Studio PURNA Yoga
“Observe, accept, embrace, let go” – a “mantra” that carries the whole flavor of a yin yoga practice.
The pace of life today leaves us no space to breathe, to be aware of it and to enjoy living it. Everything around is about deadlines, targets, competition, pushing us to do more, to do better, to do faster, to do. No time to be. This “way of living” influenced even the way of yoga is understand and practiced today, making the more dynamic and invigorating yoga styles to be predominant. There is nothing wrong or bad about yang yoga styles, admitting this is the natural reaction of people trying to adapt to inherent changes and transformations of life. Still, the Universal law of balancing the Yin and Yang cannot be denied. Llooking for cultivating a yin attitude in our daily life - including yoga practice - is natural and desired, in order to live an harmonious and balanced life.
Yin Yoga is therefore not an opposite, but a complementary approach to the more dynamic energic yoga styles. In Yin Yoga, floor postures are held passively for 4-5 minutes (or longer) to access a safe and positive ‘stress’ on the connective tissue of the body. Physically, Yin Yoga restores and maintains the natural mobility of the joints, mainly but not only on the lower body. Energetically, Yin Yoga opens the body’s meridian system, which enhances the body’s energetic flow (Qi) and supports emotional equilibrium. Cultivating an attitude of stillness and silence, las but not least, Yin Yoga prepares not only the body but the mind too, for deeper experiences in meditation.
This 100 hours training covers the essential elements of how to practice and teach Yin Yoga, being suitable for those wishing to teach Yin Yoga, or those simply wishing to a deeper understanding of the practice.
